Salty Dog is the ONLY Indoor/Outdoor climate controlled Boarding Facility on the Outer Banks with modern spacious kennels. Located on Colington Island in Kill Devil Hills.

Salty Dog Boarding and Grooming offers 24/7 care for your special pet. Certified in canine CPR and first aid, Our caregivers are located on premises. Together with a kennel aide they provide a safe, secure, and comfortable Home Away From Home.

Check-ins and Check-outs after these posted hours will incur an opening fee charge.
Please call for hours and to make an appointment for boarding your pet. Our winter hours vary according to the off season demands.

Rates:
50 lbs or less $22.00 per day   (*$2.00 discount for double occupancy)
over 50 lbs $24.00 per day   (*$2.00 discount for double occupancy)
Holidays & holiday weekends $25.00 per day - all size dogs

A $50.00 (non-refundable) reservation deposit per dog is required and will be credited to the total bill. Checks and credit cards accepted. Credit card information is on the registration form.

Prices include food. Special Diets incur an additional charge of $1.00 per day. If you want your pet to have extra play time, a member of the staff will provide individual special play for an additional $3.00 per 10 minute session. Medications can be administered each at $1.00 per day per dosage.

Do you want your pet to spend some of your vacation with you? "Doggie outings" can be arranged on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.

We offer spacious indoor/outdoor runs totaling 19 feet long and 4-7 feet wide. There are dividers between the kennels so your pet won't see the pet next door. Lots of natural light is provided by skylights throughout the building. We provide warm bedding or you are welcome to bring washable, labeled bedding or toys from home. Salty Dog Boarding is not responsible for damaged or lost bedding or toys.

From Route 158 bypass at MP 8 (Croatan Highway), turn onto Colington Road by the Red Apple gas station. We're approximately 3 miles from this turn. Make the 2nd left after crossing the 2nd bridge (Williams Drive). We're 1/4 mile on the right. See Google Map
